Overview
The Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Pathology degree at Lesotho's Lincoln University prepares students to make accurate diagnoses utilising relevant samples. Furthermore, it allows them to participate in both laboratory and clinical research, allowing them to expand their knowledge and skills. The programme is designed for students who wish to be a part of ground-breaking scientific research and contribute to the growth of biomedical knowledge by learning how diseases work on a molecular level. This assist postgraduate students in becoming high-quality pathologists who will aid suffering patients through their accurate diagnostic talents. They will also be taught how to be good researchers and teachers, as well as how to serve the community.
Program Aim
The program will produce potential professionals who are able to:
- Explain understanding of the histogenetic and patho-physiologic procedures associated with diverse pathologies during discussions with colleagues, doctors, students, and patients.
- Use reasonable accuracy when interpreting clinical and laboratory data.
- Provide pathology training that focuses on interpretation, investigation, and management.
- Link clinical and pathology data to explain and link numerous clinical indications, symptoms, and manifestations of disease.
- Keep accurate records of tests and their outcomes for a reasonable amount of time so that they can be accessed as needed.
- Coordinate and collaborate with subordinates and colleagues in a laboratory.

1. High School Certificate: BBA Grade, ABC, or AAC in 3 subjects i.e.
- Biology, and
- Chemistry, and
- Physics or Mathematics
2. General Certificate of Education Advanced (“A”) level: Grade BBB, ABC or AAC in 3 subjects i.e.
- Biology, and
- Chemistry, and
- Physics or Mathematics
3. Matriculation Or Foundation in Science Or Pre-Medical course CGPA 3.0 (out of 4) in 3 subjects i.e.
- Biology, and
- Chemistry, and
- Physics or Mathematics And Provided that the course is not less than 1 year in the same accredited institution And The minimum entry qualification is 5 Bs each in
- Biology, and
- Chemistry, and
- Physics, and
- Mathematics or Additional
- Mathematics; and
- Another subject
- B4 each in 5 subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics.
4. International Baccalaureate (IB):
Or
a. Diploma Level
30 points with a minimum of 2 science subjects or Mathematics at Higher Level (HL) and 1 science subject at Standard Level
And Attained a minimum score of 4 each in
- Biology, and
- Chemistry, and
- Physics or Mathematics
5. Diploma in Health Sciences
Or b. bachelor’s degree level
CGPA 3.5 (out of 4) And
Provided the course is not less than 5 semesters or 2½ years in the same accredited institution
And
The minimum entry qualification is 2 Bs each in
- Biology; and
- Chemistry; and
- Physics; and3 credits each in
- English; and
- Mathematics or Additional
- Mathematics; and

At School Certificate level or its equivalent
6. Degree in Health or Pure or Applied Sciences: CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) 5- year medical program

8. Degree in the Arts or Humanities: CGPA 3.5 (out of 4.0) 5- year medical program
