Overview

Master of Surgery (M.S.) in Anesthesiology is a postgraduate Anaesthesia course that focuses on utilization of drugs that lessen pain by causing insensibility. Under this degree, students learn about areas such as ambulatory anaesthesia, cardiothoracic anaesthesiology, paediatric anaesthesiology, neuro-anesthesia, obstetrical anaesthesiology and pain management. Anaesthesia controls pain during surgery or other medical procedures. It includes using medicines, and sometimes closes monitoring, to keep you comfortable. It can also help control breathing, blood pressure, blood flow, and heart rate and rhythm when needed. Some of the types of Anaesthesia are local anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia and general anaesthesia. The course focuses on utilization of drugs that minimize pain by causing numbness in the affected region. The program involves components of study such as ambulatory anesthesia, cardiothoracic anaesthesiology, paediatric anaesthesiology, neuroanaesthesia, obstetrical anaesthesiology and pain management.
