Overview
Oral medicine is a dental specialty that deals with the diagnosis and management of medically related diseases, disorders and conditions affecting the oral and maxillofacial regions in medically complex patients. These specialists manage conditions with medications rather than surgery. Their patients tend to be unresponsive to conventional dental procedures and may have severe, life-threatening medical conditions.
