Overview
Bachelor of Optometry program is meant to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain employment in prestigious institutions, practise privately, or open dispensing outlets. This course trains students to practise as optometrists, positively impacting the lives of individuals with vision impairment and sight loss. They will study vision and the eye through optics, biology, eye illness, and visual impairment subjects. In addition, they will learn about therapeutic options including contact lenses and ophthalmic lenses, as well as dispensing.
Program Aim
Upon the completion of the course student will be able to:
- Demonstrate professional and clinical competence in the practise of optometry upon completion of the course.
- Enhance students’ critical thinking skills so they can work effectively on inter- and multi-disciplinary health care projects.
- Develop their abilities and prepare them for the optical clinic industry and profession
- Work in the domain of dietary and environmental counselling.
- Effectively provide vision care using new techniques and technologies.
